BALDWIN AVIATION ANNOUNCES SAFETY CO-OP™ PROGRAM FOR SMALL FLIGHT DEPARTMENTS SEEKING ISBAO REGISTRATION
Program Will Allow Operators To Register As Part of Baldwin Network
Hilton Head Island, SC—In 2007, Baldwin Aviation, Inc., headquartered in Hilton Head, South Carolina, became the first firm of its kind to achieve International Standard for Business Aviation Operations (ISBAO) Registration. Under a newly constructed registration, Baldwin will now be able to extend the benefits of a co-operative registration plan to qualifying flight departments [1 aircraft, 4 or less staff] who are working directly with them on ISBAO compliance and registration.
“With Baldwin’s proven safety management programs, we are able to offer SAFETY CO-OP™ to guide and assist the operator through the entire process and beyond. Our credentialed professionals work with the operator to ensure they comply with ISBAO standards and assist them in the creation and development of their own unique mission and profile documents, Safety Management System tools, and Emergency Response Plans. We regularly monitor the safety program and conduct annual reviews. Our team streamlined the process for these small operators so it’s not so overwhelming,” said Don Baldwin, president of Baldwin Aviation. “This is an important development for small flight departments that have been reluctant to pursue ISBAO registration in the past due to the daunting prospects of establishing and maintaining procedures and manuals, and the cost of an audit,” he explained.
Qualifying organizations participating with Baldwin in the SAFETY CO-OP™ program will receive the full benefit of ISBAO registration while retaining autonomy. They will be fully qualified and compliant with ISBAO standards while retaining operational independence and control. Their manuals and procedures will be mission specific and tailored specifically to their own operations. Should they choose to expand their flight operations or become ISBAO independent, they can do so easily. “This co-operative model, which pairs smaller flight departments with an established, experienced ISBAO registered organization, removes the most obvious and significant barrier between these operators and the enhanced safety and consistency they’ve sought since they began operations,” Baldwin said.
Founded in 2004, Baldwin Aviation is a recognized leader in developing and implementing customized safety management programs that comply with the stringent standards required for International Standard for Business Aviation Organizations (IS-BAO) certification and other standards and regulatory authorities. Baldwin became the only IS-BAO registered SMS implementer in 2007, followed by Stage II registration in 2010. In 2014, Baldwin successfully met the requirements to establish the SAFETY CO-OP™ program. In 2012, Baldwin became the 1st IS-BAO Support Services Affiliate (SSA) - further supporting Baldwin's leadership position by providing the assurance that Baldwin SMS programs meet or exceed regulatory compliance requirements.
